I received an e-mail from Blog Catalog yesterday informing me of the upcoming International Literacy Day on September 8th and giving me the opportunity to unite with other bloggers to support this important day.

I wanted to pass this information along as I have personally worked with someone who was held back on his job and providing for his family due to his inability to read the necessary paperwork and forms required for a promotion.
